Glory Over Everything

Let’s Be Peace Makers

We are living in a time where peace is a hard thing to find. There is only One source that is sure, that source is – Jesus. He is where I find my peace, He stills my soul and my racing mind. I will choose to be His reflection- A person of peace, of love, of kindness. ❤

Our Prince of Peace

Tonight we light the third candle, the Peace Candle. 🕯️

That night, when Jesus burst into the world, the Prince of Peace was born. His peace transcends our understanding, and guards our hearts and minds. There is no need for us to worry and fret over anything, instead we bow our heads, bow our hearts. We simply ask, and it will come. ✨

Behind the Poem He is Her Peace

Behind the Poem – He is Her Peace:

Scripture tells us that God will give us, not just any peace, He gives us His Peace. When things are in chaos, completely out of control all around us, we can walk through it with a peace so great, it is beyond what we and others can comprehend.

Then, as we purpose to allow God’s peace to guard our hearts and minds something happens.

There is a making, a forging within us, and we become peacemakers, those who carry His peace in our lives and bring His peace to lives of others.

Let’s walk in the Power of His Peace today!

Peace is a state of harmony, freedom from distraction, anxiety, obsession and annoyance.  It is a place of well-being in mind, an inner calm.

We can have many things, but when we do not have peace we feel that gaping hole and try to fill it with anything we can grab a hold of.  The peace that Jesus offers surpasses any kind of worldly peace that we may try to chase down.

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

John 14:27

Peace I leave with you

Jesus is speaking to His disciples and we, as followers of Christ, are included in this declaration.  Jesus was preparing hearts for His departure, He was leaving and Holy Spirit was coming.  As Holy Spirit works within us, the peace of Jesus steps into our lives.

My peace I give to you

Jesus clarifies by saying My Peace.  The peace that Jesus gives is an end to the brokenness within us from our sin.   Through Jesus’ gift, His sacrifice for our sin, He restores our relationship with God and fills us with His lasting peace.

Not as the world gives to you do I give to you

The world offers up peace as well.  Here is the problem with the world’s peace, it simply doesn’t last.

  •  Money will not bring us lasting peace.
  • Praise from others will not give us lasting peace
  • Landing the perfect job will not give us lasting peace
  • Attention will not give us lasting peace
Let not your heart be troubled

A troubled heart is heavy; it taxes our body and our mind.  Jesus Declares – ‘Don’t allow yourself to go there, resist when you begin to feel anxious, nervous or worried.  Lean into My peace, it is always here.’

Neither let it be afraid

Fear can paralyze – fear of the unknown, fear of failure, fear of what other people may say or think, fear of world events that are beyond our control.  Jesus declares –  ‘Do not let fear to access your heart, choose to allow  My peace settle there.’

The moment we accepted Jesus’ gift of salvation, His peace was declared over us.  In the midst of life storms, you will find His deep peace, a peace that you may not be able to explain, it will be a daily anchor for your soul.

Praying the Psalms Project – Psalm 4

I am finding as I pray through the Psalms that God is showing me more and more –

Who He Is

He’s reminding me the He fills every hole we might have.

Psalm 4

For the choir director: A psalm of David, to be accompanied by stringed instruments.

Answer me when I call to you,
O God who declares me innocent.
Free me from my troubles.
Have mercy on me and hear my prayer.

How long will you people ruin my reputation?
How long will you make groundless accusations?
How long will you continue your lies? Interlude
You can be sure of this:
The Lord set apart the godly for himself.
The Lord will answer when I call to him.

Don’t sin by letting anger control you.
Think about it overnight and remain silent. Interlude
Offer sacrifices in the right spirit,
    and trust the Lord.

Many people say, “Who will show us better times?”
Let your face smile on us, Lord.
You have given me greater joy
than those who have abundant harvests of grain and new wine.
In peace I will lie down and sleep,
for you alone, O Lord, will keep me safe.

Oh Lord, Even though I am steeped in sin, like an old tea bag, through Jesus you find me innocent.   I am so very thankful for that.

No matter what trouble comes my way, You hear me when I call.  You set me free from the things that hound me.

It is true, people will speak out against me, not agree with me even lie about me. What can I do about it? Not much!

But you, Lord –

You set me apart, close to you.

You answer me when I call.

Help me to hear Your voice above all the other noise in life.

Many days, anger and impatience get the best of me. Teach me to sleep on it, before I say one word.

When I come into Your presence in worship, in thanksgiving, with the first fruits of my day help me to have the right attitude.

I know I can trust you Lord, above all else.

So often I ask you to make everything perfect, to make every day great.  I want You smiling on me all the time.

You give me something greater.  Greater than the earthly perfection I am looking for.

You give me peace.  So much peace that I can lay my head down at night, close my eyes and sleep, knowing that you keep me safe from each day’s troubles.  Amen and Amen
